Large and private Maldives water villa for US$340 per night, full board
Right now is one of the best times of year to find a great deal at a Maldives resort, but even among all the deals this one stands out. The Nika Island Resort is offering its 10 water villas for only US$340 per night for two people on a full-board basis, which includes two free nights on a stay of a week or more.
Being totally honest, Nika Island Resort is not among the newer or fancier Maldives private-island resorts (although it was totally refurbished in July, 2011), but it’s fantastic value, especially during this special deal. The resort is owned and operated by Italians, and it’s quite popular among that group all year, so in some ways it’s like visiting Italy and the Maldives at the same time.
A water villa for US$340 for two people at the Nika Island Resort in the Maldives.
This deal includes two free nights in the room rate for stays of a week or longer, and is only available on our booking partner, Agoda. The rate for a single person is only US$300 per night, and island rooms are even less expensive.
A unique and very private resort
Among the smallest private-island resorts with only 37 total rooms, the Nika Island hotel emphasizes privacy in a way that most other resorts don’t. In fact, each of the 27 island rooms literally has its own small stretch of private beach, and each of the 10 water bungalows has 3 separate private decks out over the lagoon that aren’t visible to the other bungalows. Another way of saying it is that the Nika Island Resort is well set up for nude sunbathing, which is normally discouraged in the Maldives.
Each water villa is also quite large on the inside, with 3 separate rooms and a large bathroom. There’s plenty of room to relax both inside and out, and of course you get all the popular amenities like satellite TV, a mini bar, and even bath robes. If this interests you at all you should watch the promotional video posted at the bottom of the main resort page, which explains everything well and will make you want to reserve.
Great beaches and activity options
Another of the amazing features for a resort in this price category is an abundance of fabulous beaches. As mentioned, each of the island rooms has its own beach, and the 10 water villas share their own large private beach in addition to a sandy deck outside each villa. The cafe also has a lovely beach, and they offer many included water sports that are not available at some of the other more traditional Maldives islands.
The main activity is relaxation at most of these resorts, and many in the lower price categories don’t offer much else, but the Nika Island Resort offers a gym, tennis, windsurfing, and of course excellent diving and snorkeling. They also have a spa offering many treatments and massage options, so you get pretty much everything you could imagine for an astonishingly low price at the moment.
