Featuring 52 water villas and 47 island rooms, the Dusit Thani Maldives is the first Thai-styled hotel in the area. The water villas come in 3 different styles, ranging from huge to enormous. Guests rave consistently and reviews are among the best in the Maldives, as you'd expect from a hotel company with the reputation Dusit Thani has earned.
The resort boasts the largest swimming pool in the Maldives at 750 square meters, and there are also tennis courts and a Kid's Club, so this should be ideal for families. It's among the more expensive private-island resorts as it opens so we expect big things.
Reviews for the Dusit Thani Maldives Resort are excellent, with many experienced Maldives visitors saying this is now their favorite resort. The house reef gets very high marks from snorkelers and divers with each praising the amount of life on the reef but in coral and fish, and the large water villas and other rooms are also often cited as reasons to be cheerful.
The food in the restaurants gets raves from most, as does the service from the attentive staff and the little conveniences found throughout, including free use of bicycles to explore the resort. Of course there are some minor problems reported, as there are everywhere, but it seems that the staff and management are on top of them in a positive manor, so there is a lot to recommend here.
