Part of the Sun Hotels and Resorts group, the Olhuveli Beach Resort & Spa features 164 total rooms, 60 of which are water villas on stilts over the lagoon. This is a 4-star private-island resort that offers all the activities and amenities of most of the 5-star properties, but at a price that makes it one of the most affordable in the Maldives.
The villas are a bit smaller than at most other nearby resorts, but service is very good and the quality of food in the restaurants is excellent, including at the all-inclusive restaurant that comes as part of the popular packages. The water villas offer plenty of privacy, making them a great choice for honeymoon or anniversary couples who don't have an unlimited budget.
The Olhuveli Beach Resort & Spa is located on Fesdu Island in South Malé Atoll, 34 kilometers south of the Malé International Airport.

To reach the Olhuveli Beach Resort & Spa you’ll need to fly to the main Malé International Airport in the Maldives. From there you’ll be met by resort staff and put on a private boat for the 45-minute speedboat ride to the hotel’s island, at an additional charge.
Reviews for the Olhuveli Beach Resort & Spa are mostly very positive, and the few negative reviews seem to involve specific incidents that don’t affect many guests. Generally the setting, the rooms, and staff, and the dining options all get very high marks.
A few guests mention that the resort seems to cater to a great number of families, which should be good news for some while bad news for others. Considering that this is one of the most affordable water villa resorts in the Maldives, the overwhelmingly positive reviews are an excellent sign that this should be a great choice for many people.
