Featuring 34 water bungalows in addition to 52 island rooms, the Thulhagiri Island Resort is a small and simple island not far north of the International airport. Its services put it somewhere between a 3-star and 4-star resort, and it's really best suited to those looking for a simple private-island hotel rather than a vast resort complex.

The Thulhagiri Island Resort operates on either a half-board or all-inclusive basis, with the latter packages including various activities as well. This resort appears to be popular with Russian package tourists, though the restaurant has an acclaimed Austrian chef.

WHAT THE REVIEWS SAY

Reviews of the Thulhagiri Island Resort are decidedly mixed. Most past guests praise the island as a non-commercialized and remote getaway, and the crystal clear lagoon gets high marks from most as well. The food in the buffet restaurant has quite a few fans, which isn’t always the case at all-inclusive restaurants, so that right there is a great sign.

Quite a few guests do note that the service from the staff isn’t up to the level of a 4-star resort, or even a 3-star resort. Some appear to have had frustrating experiences while there so if you are the type that tends to have special requests then this might not be an ideal resort. With that said there are other guests who praise the staff, so it really is personal preference.
