Overwater bungalows on Fiji

While there are overwater bungalow resorts scattered all throughout the South Pacific, Fiji is home to only 3, at least for the moment. What is nice about these 3 choices, is that they do vary a lot from each other, which allows guests a few options. Out of these, 2 offer rooms around the US$500 a night range while the third is geared toward travelers that adventure with a larger budget.

If you are looking for something other than the three listed below, you’ll be able to go to one of the other islands in the South Pacific, where you’ll have around 30 different resorts to choose from if you can make it to Bora Bora or elsewhere in French Polynesia.

Getting to Moorea

Because there are only a select few airlines that venture out to French Polynesia, you’ll find that getting there isn’t quite as easy as you might assume. Another thing you’ll want to note is that the airlines that do travel to French Polynesia all fly into Tahiti, before departing to the other nearby islands. Thankfully, Moorea is practically in the shadow of Tahiti so you actually have a few transportation options, unlike most of the rest in the large island group, where a flight is the only practical way of getting there.

Getting to Tahiti

Although you’ll find that getting to Tahiti isn’t the cheapest, the adventure over tends to be both easy and straightforward. This is because there are only a few airlines that fly into Papeete’s Faa’a International Airport, which serves as a hub for the entire South Pacific. Regardless of which direction you are coming from, you’ll be arriving on a huge wide-body jet such as a 747, so even the coach seats tend to be roomy and comfortable, which is a nice thing to look forward to.

Tahiti and Moorea weather by month

Luckily, for those planning a trip, you’ll find that daytime and evening temperatures in Tahiti, as well as throughout the entirety of French Polynesia, are incredibly stable from month to month. You’ll see on the temperature chart below that each day of the year is almost identical to the other days. Moorea Island is only 9 miles (17 km) away, so the climate and weather are basically identical, and there are better Moorea overwater bungalow resorts to consider as well.

Adults-only Maldives: Water villa resorts with no children

It is without doubt, that most people consider the Maldives to be one of the premier honeymoon destinations on this planet of ours. However, there has been an increased number of families that are spending holidays in this gorgeous archipelago as well. This has made for a sensitive situation where one of our most common questions is about Maldives child-free resorts and of those who solely focus on a romantic atmosphere, meaning they rather not be surrounded by families and their children.

When planning a tropical vacation or holiday, the Maldives is often at the very top of a list of possible destinations. With that, over the years, what was first viewed as a destination suitable solely for romantic couples, destination weddings or honeymoons, has now become a paradise for all types of traveling groups, including those with children under the ‘adult’ age required in some overwater rooms.

Even though more children are accompanying their parents on vacations, it doesn’t mean that all resorts will cater to the young travelers, especially if there are 2 or more in tow.

It may be hard to believe, but there actually are a few golf courses situated on a few islands in the Maldives. The ones that are currently open are on the small side, but they are definitely better than nothing for someone who likes to mix in at least a bit of golf during their sunny holiday.

Two pitch & putt courses (6 holes and 9 holes) have been operating for a while now, and a longer course with 9 holes that average 123 yards has just recently opened within the last few years.
