many of us, a large photo of an overwater bungalow resort is as close as we are likely to ever get to them. We are adding photo galleries to each resort page, starting with Bora Bora and Moorea, so I've been spending many hours lately going through these magnificent and inspirational images.

I think most of us are easily hypnotized by the aerial photos of the resorts, but one particular photo I came across hit me in a different way so I thought I'd share it with everyone. It's from the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort and Thalasso Spa, which is one of two InterContinental hotels on the island, both of which are easily located on this map of Bora Bora overwater resorts.

As you can see, this photo is a view from the bedroom, where guests can lay on their plush kingsize bed and have a perfect and private view of the clear water of the lagoon below. If you check the photo gallery on the InterContinental Bora Bora Thalasso Spa page you’ll see that they have similar photos with views from the living room as well as from the bathroom.

Both InterContinental resorts do an excellent job with photos that make their hotels very hard to resist, and both have fantastic reputations among guests once they arrive.

And while we are at it, below is the living-room view in the same bungalow:

  1. The limiting factor with these resorts is that children must be under the age of 15. We stayed at the Thalasso with our 11 and 14 year old in March of 2018. We tried to rebook for March of 2019 and was told that the property would not accommodate our (by then) 15 year old. Very frustrating!
