King Over Water Bungalow at the Moorea Hilton for US$491 per night
Savvy travelers know that the best deals of the year for overwater resorts are in January and February in the South Pacific, even though the weather there is nearly the same all year round. Once again this year we are seeing the lowest prices we've seen in a long time at some of these resorts, including the deal we are highlighting this week.
The Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort and Spa is one of the very best resorts on Moorea, and right now they are offering King Over Water Bungalows at US$491 per night for two people in the coming months. Moorea, for those who've yet to visit, is just off Tahiti and many agree that it's just as beautiful as Bora Bora. It's also an easier island to explore than Bora Bora, so it's loaded with advantages, including lower prices because it's less famous.
An Over Water Bungalow at the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort and Spa for US$491 per night for two people in January or February. A Panoramic Over Water Bungalow is US$531 per night for the same bungalow but with the best views on the end of the row.
This rate is available through our booking partner, Hotels.com, and it includes a 25% discount. There is no minimum stay requirement to qualify for the rate, but it is non-refundable.
Large overwater bungalows with many extra features
At almost 700 square feet, the overwater bungalows at the Hilton are more than double the size of a standard hotel room in a city, with plenty of room for a king bed plus a sofa bed in the sitting area. Even with 4-star room rates, you get all the 5-star amenities such as bathrobes, slippers, double sink, bidet, separate bathtub and shower, free daily newspaper, and a large furnished balcony with steps leading down into the turquoise lagoon below.
There's also a 37″ flatscreen TV, an iPod docking station, a DVD player, and much more. Read the TripAdvisor reviews for this place and you'll see that they are nearly all 5-stars across the board, particularly for guests who stay in the overwater rooms.
The most complete resort on Moorea
Another reason why the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort and Spa is arguably the best on the island is that they offer pretty much everything you can think of. There are two restaurants and two bars, a beach, a driving range, many water sports options, tennis courts, a fitness room, pool tables, and so on. Most things are included in the room rate, so you can be as active as you want to be without spending any more.
The location on the north shore is also ideal as it's close to several other restaurants, shops, and resorts. The French-influenced cuisine in the South Pacific is a joy to explore, and here you can sample many wonderful options, including quite a few at very reasonable prices. In these months you might get a bit of cloud cover during part of some days, but those make for some amazing sunsets, and the tropical breezes are always blowing.
