A popular question we often receive is whether or not there is some type of overwater resort in Florida and the Florida Keys. Unfortunately, for at least the moment, we can't say that there are any such options available. With that said, however, we're happy to report that there are a few great overwater resorts in the Caribbean that are very much worth looking at, which we'll discuss below.
But, if you're thinking about those dreamy little huts that rest perched on stilts over a clear and delicate lagoon, then you'll have to prepare yourself for travel that takes you far away from Florida. The ones that are in the Caribbean range from 3-star to 5-star deluxe, but those crystal clear lagoons just aren't found in this part of the world. We'll show you where to find those a bit down this page.
Hi we are planing a trip to Puerto Rico in early 2024. We would like to spend a portion of our 10 day vacation in an over the water bungalow. Im lookn for the closest place and also if a passport is required for us travlers. And probably a bunch more questions. Thanks.
Eli,
The only overwater bungalows remotely close to Puerto Rico are at the Sandals in St. Lucia. They are amazing, although not cheap. And you would need a passport, unfortunately, but at least you have time to get one. -Roger
