Each week we comb all the best deals on water villas and overwater bungalows around the world to present the most interesting one for our readers. This week we came upon a treasure trove of amazing discounts on Maldives water bungalows for the summer months.
Even though the Maldives weather is nearly the same all year round, with just a few more quick rain storms during the summer than the winter, the months of June through August are the off season for the resorts with the lowest prices of the year.
What's interesting is that just in the past week or so many of the better resorts have started discounting their previous off-season rates down to almost unheard-of levels. Below is a list of some of the best Maldives resorts that have cut their best rates by 15% to 30%. Obviously it's all based on availability and some resorts will show higher prices for some weeks, but if you are flexible it seems certain that you can find an amazing deal soon for the summer months.
Good afternoon from California, USA.
I’m looking to visit Maldives in August 2021. Can you please tell me the Covid-19 restrictions for Maldives resorts and are all resorts now opened for vacationing??
This will be a family vacation and what is a good recommendation for a family experience there at Maldives?
Thank you and I look forward to hearing back from you.
Lorraine
Lorraine,
Maldives reopened its borders to tourists of all nationalities on 15th July 2020. There will be no further incoming travel restrictions to the country. So far there have been very few cases of COVID at any of the resorts and if you are vaccinated you should be fine.
For families I highly recommend Meeru Island, which is among the largest islands and the most affordable for all-inclusives. Since it’s a large island they also offer more pools and activities than most others as well. Have a great trip! -Roger
We are considering a 10 week stay and are avid scuba diverstrying not to break the bank
We don’t need fancy we come for the diving. Any help would help. Where should we be looking for to be close to the diving?thanks Bob Hastings. 🌴🐋🦈😎
Robert,
Ten weeks in the Maldives is an extremely long stay and I’m not aware of any diving resorts that cost less than US$3,000 per week. You might try Indonesia as they have great diving resorts at much more reasonable prices. -Roger
