Vahine Island Private Island Resort – South Pacific

Vahine Island overwater bungalows

Beautifully set on a private 25-acre island, the Vahine Island Private Island Resort is a unique hotel that is perfect for a wedding, honeymoon, anniversary, or any other romantic getaway. With only nine total rooms – 3 overwater bungalows, 3 beach bungalows, and 3 deluxe beach suites – the hotel is as private as one could hope for in paradise.

This is definitely a 4-star or above resort, with a price to match, but it’s also good value as there is a huge list of included activities and equipment, as well as opportunities for a wide variety of other excursions nearby. The three overwater bungalows at the Vahine Island Private Island Resort are also among the most secluded and picturesque such rooms in the world, so if you’ve fantasized about having a holiday over the water, this is about as good as it gets.

Vahine Island Private Island Resort is located on a 25-acre private motu (small island) called Motu Tu Vahine near Tahaa Island in the South Pacific.

What the reviews say

The Vahine Island Private Island Resort is one of the best reviewed overwater resorts in the South Pacific. Previous guests nearly all gush about the amazingly beautiful location, the well-kept facilities, the professional service, as well as the food on offer.

The only real negative is that a few point out that the beach itself is minimal at the resort, and the water can be too shallow to swim in. Overall this is an extremely popular hotel among past guests, and is usually described as a perfect romantic getaway resort.

Getting there

To reach the Vahine Island Private Island Resort you first need to fly to Tahiti and then change to a smaller plane for the short flight to Raiatea Island. Once there you’ll be greeted by hotel staff and put on board a comfortable private speed boat for the 30-minute ride across the lagoon to the hotel itself.
