Komandoo Island Resort – Maldives
Featuring 14 Jacuzzi Water Villas in addition to 31 beach villas, the Komandoo Island Resort is a small 4-star resort on a private island that offers good value. Most other intimate private islands in the Maldives are 5 stars and cost twice as much or more, so this could be a treat for someone looking for solitude and privacy.
Most of the guests book on an all-inclusive plan, featuring all meals in the main restaurant, though other options, including an a la carte restaurant are available. There is good diving and snorkeling available on the house reef in the lagoon itself, and many other activities possible on or near the beach.
Location
The Komandoo Island Resort is located at northern edge of the Lhaviyani Atoll, about 130 kilometers north of Malé International Airport.

What the reviews say
The Komandoo Island Resort gets mostly positive reviews, particularly the more recent ones. In years past there was an issue with construction on a nearby island, but that seems to have been completed since no one has mentioned it in a long time. Generally, guests are very impressed by the service and how intimate the island feels having only 45 rooms.
Many guests seem to come back every year, and quite a few reviews say this is the best resort they've ever stayed in. Considering that this is one of the more affordable resorts with Jacuzzi water villas, the reviews are surprisingly strong and should give you confidence to book as long as you appreciate the overall features. Another thing to keep in mind is that many guests state that they felt as if they were the only people at the resort, which is a big plus for those looking for a more peaceful and secluded vacation.
Getting there
To reach the Komandoo Island Resort you must first fly to Malé International Airport in the Maldives. From there you'll be met by hotel staff who will help you board a sea plane for a 40-minute flight to the resort itself.
