Sandals to reopen Caribbean resorts on June 4th to the public

As the world begins to open up again, we are now being able to look a little closer into what is possible for summer and fall travel. The famed Sandals resort chain, which houses many properties in the Caribbean, including some overwater resorts, will start opening their resorts back up to visitors during the first week of June. In total, 18 properties are set to re-open to the public on June 4th, 2020. These resorts are located on the islands of Jamaica, St. Lucia, Turks & Caicos, Grenada, Antigua, and Barbados.

On the 15th of June, 2020, Sandals resort locations in the Bahamas will reopen. All of the resorts were closed to guests on March 30th, 2020 as the COVID-19 virus spread throughout the world.

Sandals Platinum Protocols of Cleanliness

To keep up with the current state of the world, Sandals has designed a new standard of cleanliness, titled the Sandals Platinum Protocols of Cleanliness. What this means is that they will have a minimum of three inspections daily for all of the hard surfaces within each resort. These surfaces include the door handles to each and every public restroom, kitchens, bars, restaurants, swimming pools, and the hot tubs. To go into a little more detail, the restrooms will be cleaned and sanitized in 20 minute intervals. In each restaurant and bar, the menus, cutlery, glassware, tables, and chairs will be wiped down.

This new way of cleaning is based off of a 18 key touch point system that will start at the airport lounge and extend all the way to each and every resort room. In addition, there will be hand sanitizing stations throughout each resort that are easily accessible throughout the day. Guests will check into each resort on-line instead of at the front desk. Social distancing will be practiced as well and employees will have their temperatures checked before each work shift.

Sandals overwater resorts in Jamaica

At the moment, there are two overwater Sandals resorts in Jamaica, the Sandals South Coast Resort and the Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort. Both resorts are highly reviewed and offer luxury at a luxury price. If you're looking for a stunning overwater villa with all the amenities you could think of, then you'll want to look into both of these resorts, as well as the Sandals resort on Saint Lucia, which you'll read about below.

If you're concerned about staying at a resort where you are stationed close to other guests, you'll be happy to note that at the overwater resorts in the Sandals brand, as well as pretty much every overwater resort around the world, each villa has its own private entry that is socially distant from the villas next door. This makes it very easy to have a private vacation without worry of being too close to others. Another way that these resorts cater to social distancing is by offering a private pool with each room alongside private steps that lead directly into the ocean from your very own terrace. So if you don't want to use the resort pool, you still have two swimming and relaxing options right outside of your room.

Sandals overwater resort in Saint Lucia

Much like the overwater villas at the Jamaica locations, the villas here at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian Resort offer privacy and an easy way to social distance while on vacation. With each overwater villa offering a private entry and a private back terrace with steps that lead into the ocean, you won't have to sit right next to someone else to experience the views or the water. And with the option to eat inside your room instead of at a restaurant, you'll also find the option to eat on your private deck while overlooking the ocean and your own soaking tub.
