Moorea 4-star overwater bungalow for US$414 per night
In perhaps the best deal we’ve seen in the South Pacific in the last few months, right now you can book an overwater bungalow at one of Moorea’s finest luxury resorts for only US$414 per night. The normal rate at the InterContinental Moorea Resort & Spa is US$592 per night so this represents 28% off, and the lowest rate we’ve seen for these popular rooms.
Part of what makes this one such a stand-out is that these are among the largest overwater bungalows in Tahiti or Moorea, and similar in size to the 5-star resorts on Bora Bora. In truth, all of the water bungalows in this region are fairly large, but it is nice to have extra room to spread out, especially at this price.

International luxury at the InterContinental
With 50 overwater bungalows and 94 island rooms and suites, the InterContinental Moorea Resort & Spa is one of the larger overwater resorts anywhere in the South Pacific. With that size, along with the stellar reputation of the InterContinental Hotel Group, you get all the amenities and services you’d expect at even the most expensive resorts in the area.
These overwater bungalows are 704 square feet (65 square meters) including an outdoor deck with steps leading down into the lagoon. Each has a kingsize bed and a sofabed in a separate sitting area, so they are more like suites than standard hotel rooms. You also get a large bathtub and bathrobes for each guest, compared to just a shower in some of the other overwater bungalows in the area.
Moorea is a convenient alternative to Bora Bora
While the island of Moorea may not be as famous as Bora Bora, it’s just as beautiful, and far easier to reach. All flights into the region go into Tahiti Airport, and from there you can take a 5-minute flight over to the nearby Moorea island or even a 1-hour ferry ride from the port of Pape’ete if you want to spend a bit of time on Tahiti first.
So on Moorea you get a gorgeous and romantic setting, but also easier access to great scuba diving, sailing, fishing, Jeep tours, and a long list of other activities that are harder to reach from the remote islands. With this promotional rate, you won’t find a less expensive way to experience overwater luxury in the South Pacific.
