Maldives Jacuzzi water villa with full board for US$383 per night
The summer months are a very tough time of year to find available overwater bungalows, much less deals, in Bora Bora and Moorea, but it's the best time to find promotions in Maldives, and we have another great one this week. This is at the popular and highly rated Meeru Island Resort, which is offering large Jacuzzi water villas with three meals per day for US$383 per night per couple.
You can actually get the smaller water villas at the edge of the water (rather than over the lagoon) for only US$298 per night per couple, but for most people these Jacuzzi rooms are the better deal. Meeru Island has 106 total water villas, which is the second most of any resort in the world, and the island itself is filled with great restaurant and activity options.
A Jacuzzi Water Villa with full board at the Meeru Island Resort in the Maldives for only US$383 per night (plus tax and service) for two people. The all-inclusive package for these same villas is only US$450 per night, while the full-board package at the water villas at the lagoon's edge are only US$298 per night for two.
These rates are only available on Agoda, which is our booking partner and the leader in Maldives online accommodations. It includes a 15% limited time discount and there is no minimum stay required to qualify, but space is limited so book soon. Check your own travel dates on the Agoda page for the Meeru Island Resort.
Large Jacuzzi water villas for romantic couples
The Meeru Island Resort is generally family-friendly, but the water villas are restricted to only those 18 and up, so they are always quiet and perfect for romance. Each Jacuzzi water villa is 85 square meters including a private deck and the 2-person Jacuzzi, which is about three times the size of a typical city hotel room.
And while the water villa area is built for couples, the island itself has everything you could hope for, including more than a dozen restaurants and bars. Pretty much all Maldives resorts offer diving and snorkeling, but the Meeru Island offers all of that and much more, including a 9-hole pitch and putt golf course. There's also a disco, an overwater restaurant, plus even a Maldives Cultural Museum. So you can be as private and quiet as you like in your water villa, and then do whatever you desire on the island whenever you like.
Meeru Island is also less expensive to reach
One of the slightly surprising things about Maldives resorts is that most of them require an extra sea-plane flight to reach them, which costs around US$500 per person round trip. It's a gorgeous flight, and a trip highlight, but obviously it adds a lot to the cost, so it's nice that Meeru Island can be reached by a much more affordable speed boat.
In fact, for stays in the Maldives for under 7 nights, this probably makes this the cheapest of all resorts once you add in transportation costs. But even though it's affordable, they don't cut corners because it's a large operation and they can offer a lot at a great price as a result. And this time of year, when rates are at their lowest, this is a hard deal to pass up.
