An ocean country far removed from it all, the Maldives consist of hundreds of islands in the middle of one of the most productive and beautiful bodies of water on the entire planet. But during a visit here, you’ll not only find bountiful amounts of ocean creatures, both big and small, but islands dotted with palm trees and lined with white sand beaches, friendly locals and a rich culture that welcomes travelers from around the world.
You’ll also find a plethora of beautifully designed and well kept resorts, with a large number of these resorts sitting in the luxury 4 and 5-star classes. Though all resorts are water front, they do vary a bit from one another. If you’re seeking a resort that caters more toward the romantically inclined and is an all-inclusive, then you’ll want to look into the spacious jacuzzi water villas at the Veligandu Island Resort. With nightly rates starting out at only US$734 a night, you’ll find that paradise is closer than you thought.
An overwater villa at the Veligandu Island Resort for US$734 (taxes and resort fees extra) per night for two people with all meals included.
Only available through Agoda, this nightly rate is great for couples who are interested in an all-inclusive romantic experience under the US$1,000 a night mark. With that said, this particular rate is for the month of January, as well as for the resort’s overwater jacuzzi rooms. There are regular overwater suites available as well, which tend to have a lower nightly rate. However, those rooms lack a few of the romantic amenities that make the jacuzzi overwater rooms so spectacular.
Large romantic rooms with a private jacuzzi

Jacuzzi villas also come complete with a partially open air bathroom with a rain shower and double sinks.
Fun and unique outdoor activities to enjoy everyday
Though the resort is built to cater those with a more romantic side, there are also lots of fun things to do and see that are just as enticing as an afternoon laying on the beach. Some of these activities include snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, catamaran sailing and volleyball. As far as snorkeling is concerned, you’ll find two separate areas to view the water world below, the lagoon and the house reef. As each varies widely from the other, you’ll find different species of sea life in each, as well as different depths to enjoy.
If you’re expecting an adult only resort however, it’s important that you note that there is a children’s pool on-site, though most families tend to book the beach rooms, so you won’t necessarily see them all the time. When you’re done enjoying the ocean, you’ll also have the option to enjoy a few hours at the resort’s spa, the Duniye Spa, with massages and treatments available.
