Overwater bungalows and villas are known for being expensive, making it so that many travelers decide to look elsewhere for their next vacation. But, not all overwater resorts are expensive, in fact, there are several resorts in the Maldives that cater to those with lower budgets yet still offer luxury stays.

One of these resorts is the adults only Hurawlhi Island Resort. Though overwater rates do change throughout the year, you will find some great nightly rates during a large portion of the year. However, during the spring, you'll find some particularly low rates. In fact, during the month of May, you'll find lots of great activities, dining, a spa, and access to large overwater rooms starting out at just US$503 per night for two adults.

The Details

Only available through Agoda, this nightly rate (for the month of May) is a great deal for those wishing for an overwater bungalow experience but don't have a very large budget. With that said, even though you won't be paying a large sum of money each night of your stay, you'll still find a 5-star luxury experience each and every day of your stay. To find out why this resort is so luxurious, continue reading below.

A sundeck, direct ocean access, and much more

Though the overwater bungalows are considered rooms, they are (along with the outdoor deck) the size of a small house. Along with that note, there are 60 of them in total, all of which are only available for adults. Though you will find the basic amenities in each, including a king size bed, room service, Wi-Fi, and a large 48 inch flat screen TV, you'll also find a lot more.

These extras include a rain shower in your bathroom along with a his and her double vanity, a completely furnished bedroom, air conditioning, a wine refrigerator, a stocked mini bar, an espresso machine in addition to a coffee and tea making area, and lovely bathrobes and slippers. Guests will also find an outside sitting area on your own private deck as well as a set of stairs that lead directly into the ocean below.

Swimming, snorkeling and water skiing are just the beginning

In addition to luxurious, oversized rooms, guests will also find themselves privy to a large number of things to do and see. If you're an outdoorsy couple, you'll find lots of fun things to do. These include snorkeling, swimming in the resort's infinity pool, beach volleyball, scuba diving, jet skiing, water skiing, tennis, deep sea fishing, wake boarding, windsurfing and much, much more. Literally, the list of activities goes on and on.

Guests will also find a live band, a cultural dance show, a games room, a jewelry store, clinic, and photography service. The on-site Duniye spa is also a great activity to enjoy with the spa itself being situated over the water.
