Bora Bora overwater bungalows starting at US$407 per night at the Sofitel
Those who realize that Bora Bora has low-season hotel prices at the same time that Hawaii has its high-season prices, are in for some fantastic bargains in the coming months. Being just south of the equator, the weather is a bit different compared to Hawaii, but it’s still warm 100% of the time and sunny most of the time during the rainier months anyway.
Among the best values in all of the South Pacific, the Sofitel Bora Bora Marara Beach and Private Island has some amazing specials available from January through March, with overwater bungalow prices starting at only US$407 per night. Just to put it in perspective, we have scanned for months looking for the lowest price for each resort to use as our “starting at…” figure, and for the Sofitel Bora Bora it was “starting at US$550 per night.” So at US$407 per night (for a couple staying a week), it’s over 25% off the best price we’d seen before.
Sofitel Bora Bora is two resorts in one
In 2010 the Sofitel combined its Private Island Resort with its Marara Beach Resort on the main island, to create one luxury property with even more choices. The Private Island is located on a motu (small island) a few minutes by free shuttle boat from the other resort, so it’s even more secluded and romantic than Bora Bora itself.
The Marara Beach Resort is similar, but the overwater bungalows there are off the main Bora Bora island, which means guests can access other activities and shopping and restaurants on Bora Bora more quickly. Depending on your goals, one is perfect for you, and with these low-season prices you can barely afford NOT to go.
Four-star luxury at an amazing price
Most Europeans know the Sofitel name as a French-owned luxury chain, so its placement in French Polynesia is more than fitting. There are 44 overwater bungalows and 51 island-based rooms at the combined resort, with each room being larger than a typical city hotel room, not even including the private deck with direct lagoon access.
There is also a luxury spa, two restaurants and two bars, scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing and all the other water sports you’d hope for, and a large swimming pool.
Online specials only
This site is proud to be partners with Agoda, which is almost always the cheapest hotel-booking site. This US$407 special is only available on Agoda and you can go directly to the hotel’s page on Agoda here, or read more about it and see a video tour of the resort on our main Sofitel Bora Bora page. Island rooms start at US$274 per night as part of the same special deal.
