5-Star Maldives water villa with half-board for US$280 per night per couple
The season of fantastic bargains in the Maldives rolls on, this week with the lowest rates of the year at a remote and romantic 5-star resort in the south. The Medhufushi Island Resort has 44 water villas in addition to 66 island rooms, and the water villas are on offer at only US$280 per night in the coming months, which includes breakfast and dinner daily.
Needless to say, this isn’t in the super-luxury 5-star category, but it is very nice plus it consistently gets solid guest reviews. When you factor in the included meals, this is one of the best water villa deals we’ve seen in the Maldives this year.
A Water Villa for two people on a half-board basis at the Medhufushi Island Resort for only US$280 per night (plus tax and service).
This rate is only available on Agoda, our booking partner, and it includes free cancellation. There is no minimum stay required to qualify, but it must be noted that you must pay for a sea plane flight to get to the resort, so shorter trips don’t make much sense. Check the Agoda page for the Medhufushi for your own dates.
A couples resort with abundant activities
Even though the water villas at the Medhufushi Island Resort are quite large at about 60 square meters each, they don’t allow children under 12 to stay over the water. And there’s no Kids Club or babysitting, so this is primarily a couples resort, which will be ideal for those celebrating a romantic occasion of their own.
Of course there is a dive center and very good snorkeling nearby, as well as windsurfing, kayaking, beach volleyball, water skiing, billiards, and many more activities. Some Maldives resorts are mostly about relaxation, but this one is well suited to active types in addition to those who prefer to just read a book in the sunshine.
Luxurious rooms and a stunning lagoon below
Each water villa a the Medhufushi Island Resort comes with a king-size bed that faces either the sunrise or sunset. They all have a separate bathtub and walk-in shower, with bathrobes for each guest. The rooms each have a flat-screen TV, minibar, coffee-tea maker, complimentary bottled water, a safe, and available wi-fi.
Of course the best feature of all of them is the large private deck with stairs leading down into the turquoise lagoon below. Each deck also features a Maldivian swing, which doubles as a day bed. In this price category this is an excellent value and definitely one to consider if you have free time in the coming months.
