5-Star Maldives water villa w/ private pool for under US$500 per night
It might seem decadent to want your own private plunge pool just outside your Maldives over the water villa when it’s suspended over a stunning and clear lagoon, but if you can afford it, why not? Normally a “plunge pool” as these small on-deck pools are called, is something you get at the largest and most expensive resorts, but there are exceptions, including at the fabulous Constance Halaveli Resort.
During the high season these water villas are usually priced close to US$1,000 per night, although sometimes it’s closer to US$700 per night. Even at those rates it’s quiet a good deal because the water villas are huge and this is one of the best-rated Maldives resorts based on guest reviews. But during the summer you can sometimes get a water villa at the Constance Halaveli Resort for under US$500 per night, including breakfast daily.
A water villa with private plunge pool at the Constance Halaveli Resort for rates as low as US$495 per night per room for a couple.
This rate is only available during certain weeks when availability is high on our booking-partner site – Agoda – which is known for having the best deals at luxury resorts. The rate is based on a 7-night stay and includes a special 15% discount for booking on Agoda. The rate may be available for shorter stays, and based on trying many different dates it’s a matter of getting lucky to find the best rate for the date you prefer. Check the Constance Halaveli Resort page on Agoda for your own dates.
5-Star luxury at a surprising price
In case you aren’t familiar with the Constance resorts chain, it’s helpful to know that they have 7 super-luxury resorts in the Indian Ocean, and their Maldives location is among their finest. It has 57 water villas, each with its own plunge pool and very large at 100 square meters (1076 square feet) so there are no cut-rate rooms here built so they can advertise a low price.
Each room also has a king-sized bed and 1 extra bed, so they are suitable for small families, but they are most popular with the honeymoon crowd. Of course there’s a large private sun deck with the plunge pool ready for a dip at any moment, plus a 42″ TV, an iMac computer, an iPod dock, a minibar, and even a mini wine cooler with a selection of wine. It’s always warm in the Maldives so even cooling down red wine might be tempting once you are there.
Great facilities throughout
There’s also scuba diving, snorkeling, a swimming pool, a gym, tennis court, beach volleyball, kayaks, cataramans, and pedal boats, among a number of other activity choices. If you get bored at this resort you only have yourself to blame.
If you are mainly there to relax you’ll want to check out the Spa de Constance, which is a fully-equipped luxury facility with a wide variety of massages and treatments available.
Finding the best deal
As briefly mentioned above, the rates at this resort can vary wildly depending on how many villas are already reserved. Even at their normal rates this is quite a bargain considering the villa size, the facilities, and especially the positive guest reviews. But if you are after the best rates you might have to try quite a few different sets of dates to find when the lowest rates are available.
