Top-rated Maldives all-inclusive water villa for only US$484 per night
Anyone looking for an all-inclusive water villa holiday in the Maldives should definitely consider the Veligandu Island Resort & Spa early on in the process. Simply put, this is one of the highest rated resorts in the Maldives by past guests, and it’s also much cheaper than anything else high in the ratings.
In fact, we spent days sorting through the cheapest available prices for all Maldives water bungalow hotels and also through all the guest reviews. When you put both lists together it’s not surprising that nearly all of the highest-rated resorts are among the more expensive, so the Veligandu really stands out for being the best of both worlds. In fact, this is why we rated it our top pick among the Best Cheap Maldives Water Villa Resorts.
A water villa for US$484 per night for a couple (singles pay even less), including their full-board meal plan (3 meals a day) at the Veligandu Island Resort & Spa in the Maldives. The all-inclusive plan, which includes alcohol and a few other extras, is available for only US$93 per night extra per couple.
With 76 water villas, the Veligandu Resort often features this deal on its smaller villa category, and sometimes it’s a bit cheaper. This price is for a 7-night stay in April, 2012, with the special online rates from Agoda, which is our booking partner. Check for rates directly on the Agoda page for the Veligandu Resort for your own travel dates.
4-star luxury at an attractive price
With only 76 total rooms, 64 of which are water villas, the Veligandu Resort is on the more intimate side compared to most Maldives resorts in this price range, but its facilities provide as many choices as some of the largest private-island hotels. There are two different restaurants, a snack bar, and another bar, plus beach and in-room dining options.
The cheaper class of water villas here have an indoor bathroom with a whirlpool tub in addition to all the 4-star amentities you could hope for (flatscreen TV, minibar, coffee-maker etc), while the more expensive category are larger with a walled-in outdoor Jacuzzi on the private deck.
If this sounds like it might suit your style then go ahead and read the guest reviews. You’ll discover that previous guests gush about almost every aspect of the Veligandu, and many of them return here each year.
Many activities plus a luxurious spa
Some of the cheaper Maldives resorts can offer lower prices because they don’t offer many water sports or activity options, but the Veligandu has the full selection, including great snorkeling on its house reef, scuba diving, kayaks, a fresh water pool, a fitness center, a white-sand beach, and even a football pitch.
The spa here is also decked out more like one that you’d expect to pay twice as much for the treatments, so this resort is good value all the way around. The service and staff get excellent marks from past guests as well, which is really the key to satisfaction at most of these resorts.
