4-star Maldives water villa with half board for US$350 per night

AngagaIslandResortAerial680As the low season in the Maldives comes to a close, it’s getting more challenging to find good deals at the popular resorts, but they are still out there if you know where to look. This week’s deal is for a hotel we’ve recommended several times before as one of the best value private-island resorts with water villas.

Angaga Island Resort and Spa has 20 new water villas along with 50 island villas and suites, and right now they have a promotion with rates as low as US$350 per couple including breakfast and dinner daily. This is close to the lowest rate of the year, which is easily one of the best deals in the Maldives at any hotel. It’s not for everyone, but if you are looking for a relaxing island with few or no children, this is one to consider.

The Deal

A Water Villa at the Angaga Island Resort and Spa for US$350 per night (plus tax and service) for two people, including half board (breakfast and dinner) daily. This is a 20% discount off their normal rate for August and September.

The Details

This deal is only available through Agoda, which is our booking partner and the biggest name in Maldives discounts anywhere. There is no minimum stay required in order to get the rate, but availability is limited at this price so booking soon is advised. Check the Agoda page for the Angaga Island Resort for your own dates.

A perfect island to relax in peace

AngagaWaterVillaHere’s the thing about the Angaga Island Resort, it’s one of the smaller islands in the Maldives, and it has pretty much nothing for children to do except snorkeling. For this reason, almost no families book here, making it unofficially and adults/couples resort. If that sounds good to you then read on, but if not this is not a good choice.

The water villas here aren’t huge but they are well appointed, and they are still much larger than a typical hotel room in a city. They come with a kingsize bed and all the main amenities like a mini fridge, a large bathroom with bathtub, and even a glass-bottom coffee table so you can observe the sea life beneath your water villa from inside.

A great house reef and other adult activities

AngagaOverwaterBarThe Angaga doesn’t have a swimming pool or a Kids Club, but it does have one of the better house reefs in the Maldives, so it has great diving and snorkeling. It also had a tennis court, plus a long list of water activities including water skiing, wind surfing and canoeing.

However, based on the reviews of this resort, the primary activity is just relaxing. They have a great spa, of course, but when you have a private deck with comfortable sun loungers sitting just over a turquoise lagoon, it’s sometimes hard to get motivated to do anything but just kick back in the warm trade winds.
